The Scottish Mensa Annual Gathering

... from 28th to 31st August 1998... The AG venue this year is Ayr and the theme is "Doon the watter" a.k.a. "A Trip to the Seaside". There will be all, sorts of events on offer from a lecture on Robert Burns (how could we miss that out when the weekend is based in Ayr?) to a sand castle building competition. A Beach Ball and a Ceilidh are among the evening entertainments. If you would like to volunteer to help (and what better way could there be for getting to know your fellow Mensans?!) or for details on how to attend, contact Rowena M. Love, 16 Yorke Road, TROON, Ayrshire, KAIO 6LB

Interested in joining Mensa? This page is primarily for members, but if you'd like to find out more about Mensa and how to join, please go to the British Mensa Page. If you want to try some more links related to Mensa, go to the Intelligence Page.

BRIGHT SPARKS / SCOTTISH EVENTS
The first Scottish Bright Sparks Weekend took place in April 1993. This was followed shortly aferwards in June by the first Midsummer Madness. The Scottish Winter Weekend was started the next February and since then all these events have been repeated annually under the collective banner of "Scottish Events".

Enquiries: Jim Kinnell

Bright Sparks is organised primarily for the benefit of junior Mensans (gifted children), but the other Scottish Events are enjoyed by Mensans of all ages.

YOUNG MENSA
(18-30yrs or anyone that feels they belong to this group!)
- Meetings are held in various areas around Britain

THE SCOTTISH MENSA COMMITTEE
The Scottish Mensa Committee was officially de-recognised in January 1998, after a period of persistent problems and difficult-to-justify administrative expenditures. Scottish Mensa is now organised via the Scottish Groups Officer, Jim Kinnell.
